About the Program

Distance Learning (6 Months)

Upon completion of this course, the student will have an understanding of the basic principles of chemistry. Enroll anytime.

Course Description: Properties and structure of matter; compounds and valence; laws of chemistry; gases, liquids, and solids; solutions; acids, bases, and salts; oxidation and reduction; the atmosphere and gases; families of elements; organic chemistry; biochemistry, photosynthesis.

Admission Requirements: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma or Mature Student (19 years or older)

Course Duration: The course duration is 6 months (120 hours). Enrollment is ongoing. Students can start at any time. Students have six months to complete the lessons and final exam.

Delivery & Instructional Methods: The Prerequisite Chemistry Course utilizes a self-directed distance learning delivery method. Lessons must be submitted for evaluation and correction by email or mail. The final exam is written with a proctor. Students are required to arrange for a proctor in their area.

This program does not require approval by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training. PTIB did not review this program.
